Disadvantages of ElectricKit

  1. Reliance on Electricity
The system is dependent on electricity; power outages will disable functionality, making it less reliable in certain situations.

  2. Incompatibility with Internal AGA Hot Water Boiler
ElectricKit cannot be used alongside an existing internal AGA Hot Water Boiler, limiting options for some users.

  3. Higher Initial Outlay
The initial investment for ElectricKit can be higher than other fuel types, which may discourage potential buyers.

  4. Electrical Work Required
Installation may necessitate additional electrical work for supply cables, which could complicate the conversion process.

  5. Use of Electric Kettles
Most customers prefer electric kettles to avoid unnecessary usage of the hot plates, which could diminish the overall experience.

The benefits of ElectricKit make it a compelling choice for many, but it is essential to weigh these advantages against the limitations to determine if it meets your cooking needs.

The ElectricKit Classic: Costs & Savings compared

The ElectricKit Classic presents a significant opportunity for considerable savings when transitioning from an traditional run cooker to a more efficient electric model. The running costs associated with this conversion will inevitably vary based on personal usage habits, individual lifestyle choices, and the varying rates charged by different energy suppliers. To provide a rough estimate, and using a competitive rate of £0.30 per kWh, if the top oven operates for an average of 12 hours a day at a consistent temperature of 220°C (not including any additional hotplate usage), the weekly running cost will amount to approximately £16. In contrast, the weekly expenses for maintaining an oil-run cooker typically range between £50 and £60. This difference results in substantial annual savings, with potential cost reductions of around £1,800, contingent on specific usage patterns.

Moreover, the initial investment necessary for acquiring the ElectricKit Classic is set at £3,500, in addition to any necessary electrical work to ensure proper installation. This upfront cost, while significant, may be recouped over time through the pronounced reduction in weekly expenses, along with the added benefit of eliminating mandatory servicing that is required every six months for oil cookers. This combination of savings and reduced maintenance can considerably enhance the overall financial appeal of adopting the ElectricKit Classic for your cooking needs.
